answers to Risty’s questions

I have non-salt wasting 21-hydroxylase def.  From birth to age 4, my small town midwestern doctors simply thought I was very large for my age.  Apparently, I never suffered an adrenal crisis during this period.  How?  No idea. Pure luck, I guess.  I’ve asked my parents, and they have no memory of any incidents, either.  I have very little memory of these early years other than what I’ve seen in home movies.  All I can tell you was that I was very active, very big kid, who was not sick, much.  I realize this is the antithesis of what many of you parents of young children are experiencing, but it’s all I can tell you.  The years I spent a good deal of time with doctors was 4-14.  Once my puberty began on schedule, the doctors seemed to take a collective sigh of relief.  Risty, I hope this helps at least a little.  Take care, Eric
