SandraFrom what I can tell, it is unlikely that a Non Classic will have a crisis. I’m sure there are those with non classic that have but I think even on the CARES website it does say that Non classic’s rarely suffer from a crisis.
I have 3 boys and one in the oven. My youngest (2yrs old) and the one that I am carrying both have SVCAH. My 2 yr old has had his share of boo boo’s and never come close to a crisis. He recently fell at my 8yr old’s baseball game and cut his forehead on the edge of the bleachers. Off to the ER we went where they proceeded to give him 3 stitches. The doctors there asked me if I gave him any extra cortef ( I was caught without his shot) I gave him a 5mg tab which he spit back out at me a few times but for the most part he got some of it. The doc’s based, on his actions and general look, felt that he was fine And he was. So, all kids do respond differently and I’m curious to see how the one that I’m carrying will respond. They say it runs true to families but only time and his clinical presentation will tell us.
Thanks for posting. It’s always nice to hear from a grown man with this condition that has led a "normal" life!
