Sandra, it’s more than that.  Ever since he was off treatment my son was always sick.  His ACTH stim was pushed off twice because of it.  One of the times he had a temperature of 105 (high numbers like that is pretty normal among my kids) and it took him about a week and a half to get over it, but in the end he did it and without treatment.

When we finally did have the ACTH test done it was also not because my son was completely well.  It was just that I didn’t tell the endo that he was having very severe diarrhea to the point where he had blood in his stool twice.  With the passing of time the symptoms of his being off treatment where becoming very obvious and at one point (probably mostly thanks to my imagination) I was even afraid to fall asleep at night in case he’ll have a crisis in between.  I wanted to see the child over with the test and back on medication for every price.

To stop the diarrhea, I stuffed my son with rice and carrots, forced him to drink Pedialyte (Does anyone elses CAH child hate sweet things like juices and apple sauce?)  and tried everything I could think of, but it only kept on getting worse.  He’s now on treatment for precisely two day and lo and behold, the diarrhea is already almost completely gone.  I didn’t start with stress dosing and it did the job anyway even though his system was empty of all treatment from not being on it for some time.  Isn’t this enough prove that he can come over an illness even on a single dose?

Or is my theory wrong, but why?
