re: Lab Result at Dr. New

Jen,

I have no personal experience with Dr. New. However, the type of blood work being done on our kids can be very time consuming -- two weeks on some of it is not uncommon.  Our ped-endo has always told us that the results should be back within 2 to 2 1/2 weeks.  My rule-of-thumb is to always wait until 3 weeks and then call (which I’v only had to do 1 time).

When you do get the results make sure you keep them in a notebook or something so you can keep track of where your daughter’s levels are at.  I think we have an outstanding ped endo -- but I know she is human and I don’t expect perfection. A second set of eyes (even untrained) checking for consistensy in numbers can often see something the first set missed.

Best regards,

Janet
