re: Dosing schedule ?

Bill,

My CAH daughter is in day care and I have them give the middle dose so that I can keep the dosages about 8 hours apart. At first I used the times of

   6 a.m. (home) /2 p.m. (day care)/10 p.m. (home)

I have recently changed to:

   3 a.m. (home)/12 noon (day care)/8 p.m (home-bedtime)

In Missouri, a licensed day care is not required to give medications, but to date, all that I have talked to will. I have to weekly (ugh!) fill out a medicine sheet, which the teachers then fill in the time the meds were given, by who, etc.  I have never had any problems with the day care not giving it on time. I have always talked to the teachers and they (I think) understand the importance. One of the reasons I recently changed the schedule was to make it easier for the teachers in the new class to give it on time. My guess is that this schedule will work better for next year in kindergarten.

I do keep injectable at the day care, but I have not trained any of the teachers to give an injection. Currently my work situation is such that I am 10 minutes away so I can get there in plenty of time.

Best regards,

Janet
