re: immunizations

Hello Sharon,

As far as my understanding, there is no reason she shouldn’t be immunized.  Our 16 month old son has SWCAH and has received all of his immunizations thus far.  Our doctors said the "diseases" would be far more of a risk if he actually got them than the immunizations.  It was a hard choice for us as before he was born, we had actually planned to go with very few of the immunizations.  That said, I’m glad we’ve gotten them & he has done fine -he just had the MMR & no fever, but he did get a little breakout from it about 10 days later -but we didn’t have to do anything regarding CAH.  A couple of the immunizations (Prevnar is one I can think of) gave him a fever that required we increase his Cortef (fever of 101), but it was only for one day.  Tylenol worked great for us, I know others like Motrin.

Best wishes, Darlene
