WolverineDear Mike:
Has your son’s Endo discussed why he perfers the prednisone over the Cortef? Would he be interested in giving the Cortef a try? You can always go back if you find that the lab results aren’t where the Endo would like them to be or if your son isn’t doing well on the Cortef in general.
Did the Endo inform you about an Adrenal Crisis? CARES FOUNDATION has some good information about this subject.
I took prednisone for 32 years and a new Endo took me off that and put me on hydrocortisone. This has been so much better for me and my lab results are fine. The prednisone was always just the two doses but changing to hydrocortisone three times a day was easy because I felt even better than I did on the prednisone.
You asked about height. I’m 5’1" and my bio-parent were 5’5" and 5’6". So, I wasn’t meant to be tall anyway but I do wonder if I had been on cortef or even hydrocortisone that maybe I would of gained a couple of inches.
Sorry, I don’t know about the CHIARI Malformation.
Take Care,
Aimee
