Chris DWe have a 5 year old son with SW CAH. He is on florinef and Cortef (5 mg pills).
His growth has been fine - around the 60% which is consistent with parental height. However, his weight has always been an issue. His last dose increase (Feb 2003) was followed by a 10 pound weight gain during three months.
May 2003 we started c. r. dosing. During the 3 months following his May appointment he gained 1 pound. I’ll find out this Friday how much he has gained from Aug. to Nov. We also have noticed his moods are more even now (way fewer mood swings) and we have been able to reduce his dose. Six months isn’t a very long time to go on - but so far I am sold.
