re: Your Opinion

My daughter is technically a non-salt-waster (11-beta) and we do have an injection kit. She will turn 5 in two weeks. I have had to give her an injection twice (should have been 3 times but I chickened out the very first "opportunity"). All three situations involved vomitting and fever. All three times we ended up in the ER because she still needed the IV fuild.

My ped endo has always stressed that you want to give an injection to prevent a crisis, not wait until there are indications of a crisis.

In my humble opinion, you should be taught how to give an injection, you should have an injection kit, and you should have it with you at all times.

Best regards,

Janet
