SusanPHi,
My 12 year old daughter is a non-salt waster and has needed the injection about 6 times. The first 5 for vomiting, the last time was for fever. We didn’t realize she had a fever, she started to vomit (crisis sign) and then I gave the injection. She stopped vomiting immeadiately, but was still so sick she had to go to the ER. We had no idea she had a fever (she was 11 by the way) and the crisis came on quick. I always give 100mg solu-cortef upon first vomit, don’t even do the give an oral dose and wait od! If your doctor resists you need to get a second opinion and the solu-cortef without delay. Also be proactive, you can’t be shy about giving the shot. Doctors never want to give it. My best to you.
