Ok everyone, I promise this will be the last post for a while. Geesh, you don’t hear from me in almost a year and now I am a post hog. My daughter as I have mentioned below has CAH due to 21 hydrox. (salt waster) She is 6 and a half. She entered Kindergarten this year. She has been sick since the day she stepped into the place. Granted this is the year all students get used to eachother’s germs BUT this seems to be taken it’s own path now. Below I was posted about how frustrated i was because I could not understand her continued illnesses. As I talked with many moms around my area, they have had adenoid problems with thier children, had them removed, and have stayed healthy since their surgery. You see my daughter has started to SNORE and LOUD. She has allergies to boot. She is not sleeping properly. Which will interfere now with her health. Her snoring wakes her through out the night. I read that snoring is dangerous to a point. There is regular toddler snoring that is cute. But then there is some serious house shaking snoring from a 6 year old that is just not healthy. When I spoke to her ped. about it she suggested a nose, ear, throat specialist. They will Xray her sinuses, then perhaps to a sleep study if they feel it is necessary. We don’t get to see this specialist until Dec. 30th. I beg to differ especially because it is 4:30 am and I am awake from her snoring. Not only because it is noisy. Because she is half waking up and moving around constantly, snorting and coughing sitting up in bed. I have got her water, nose spray and anything else to keep this kid comforably sleeping but the only thing that seems to keep her "quiet" and I do use that term loosely, is Motrin. I am wondering if the Motrin is taking the swelling down from her adenoids helping her to sleep. Well my real question here was, has any CAH patient out there had adenoid surgery in the past say 10 years. OR even any non CAH person. I just wondered if they do this with a laser now, and what their recovery was like. I hate to put her in a hospital this time of the year with the garbage going around in a hospital IF she needs them removed. I hate to wait until spring. I hear the surgeryit is pretty hard on your system. I have a friend that had both their daughter’s tonsils AND adenoids out and said it was hell. Please give me some input if you have any. Again, I will keep you posted on this. All these mom’s I spoke to said since those surgeries the kids have been so healthy. My daughter has had one fever and sore throat after another. This could be the light at the end of the tunnel. But it makes me sick to my stomach to think of the surgery. Especially with this over suppression problem. Wish us luck. We need prayers. Thanks again!Laura
