CathyHi Mary
I think that he is on a bigger dose because he takes seizures and he needs to take anti-convulsants to control these. The doctor has told us that his levels are not as well controlled as his brother.
They take their h/c twice a day, the smaller dose in the morning and the larger at bedtime. Their blood levels are checked once a year unless there is any problemsI start the day before using the filter paper, just before morning dose then 2 hours after then just before night time dose and then 2 hours later, then first thing the next morning when we then go to the hospital and they do a fasting blood test.
This might not seem to be enough times but it works for us and so far everything has been fine
Regarding the 17OHP levels the doctor says yes he does accept a higher level, I am going to speak to him more about this next week.
