re: dissolving cortef and florinef

We have twins, almost a year old, both with SWCAH. One of our girls started taking her pills whole about a month ago. We just put them on her tongue and she wallers (sp) them around for a couple of minutes until they dissolve. She doensn’t have teeth so I know she is just dissolving them. We started doing it that way because she was refusing to take them dissolved through the nipple.

Her sister, however, still takes hers dissolved. We don’t do it ahead of time though. Like, for the morning dose, when we get up, I put them in a tsp or so of water and by the time we get both diapers changed, they are pretty well dissolved. If they aren’t, a little stirring with the syringe does it.

I wouldn’t see why keeping them dissolved ahead of time would hurt anything, but I am wondering if you really need to. Also, why in the refrigerator?
