ValerieDHi Elizabeth - Yes, my 11 yr old SW-CAH son takes FLorinef 2x daily. Many, many kids do. This is not highly unusual. When my son’s PRA became highly elevated last year, we first assumed that an increase in his Cortef dose, that we were going to be doing anyway, would also help his PRA number. When that didn’t occur, we decided to split the regular am florinef dose in two and give half in the am and half in the pm. This helped, but not as much as we had hoped. Although ALL of his other "numbers" were all acceptable at this time, we didn’t want to increase the Cortef unneccessarily, so we added a little more Florinef. Alas, we ended up making the right move, only after we had disastrous results with with the generic form, Fludrocort. Anyway, to make a long story short, yes - I know of others whose children take FL\lorinef 2x daily. FYI - I recall when my son was diagnosed at 17 days, I also was told he would never need additional Florinef! As the saying goes, "NEVER SAY NEVER!!!".
