Hi! My name is Katie, and I have a terrific son named Ethan, who is 3 yrs. and has SWCAH.  I need some advice/info.  regarding Dex treatment for my sister.  She is currently 14 weeks pregnant, and is being advised to have genetic testing through Cornell, as she does not know if she (or her husband) is a carrier of CAH...  We all know what a lengthy process this can be.  She could be well into her 4th month of preganancy by the time she gets her results, then testing of the baby, etc....

My question is this...Hasn’t she missed the window of greatest good for the infant, as far as Dex treatment goes?  If the baby does have CAH, would they prescribe Dex that late? Or just wait until the baby is born to determine CAH related problems?
