thank you both for your responses. I have worried about this for a long time. I was looking back through home movies yesterday, and I came across the film from her birth. I remember the operating room (repeat c-section) being full of excitement, the doctor saying here comes baby, and then nothing. Complete silence. I asked the doctor if it was a boy, and there was no response. There was nothing but silence. Finally a nurse said, what a handsom baby. Therefore I thought boy. Only after my surgery was I told anything was wrong. Then I had to spend over an hour in recovery alone. I was told by a nurse that she thought it was a boy, and when I changed my first diaper my first thought was boy. Therefore on the tape from the hospital, everyone was saying "boy". I hope that when my daughter is old enough to understand (only 8 mo. now) I will have the right things to say. Your words have helped me to see that there really is hope in making her life a little easier.Heather
