My son’s Endo gave me a 3x5 card with the following information  on it.

Cortef

Double each dose for mild stress (single tooth extraction, temperature above 101, mild vomiting

Triple each dose for moderate stress (multiple tooth extraction, temperature above 103, trauma-broken bone

Quadruple each dose for surgery, serious illness.

 

Jacob is on the pill cortef so when double is necessary instead of half a pill reg dose he would get entire pill,  etc.. 

 

 

Treatment with Dexamethasone

0-2 years  .15ml  (mild stress)  .25ml (moderate stress)

2-12 years .25 ml (mild)   .50ml ( moderate)

12-20 years .50 ml (mild)  1.00ml (moderate)

the syringe should have the ml reading on it..

 

converts as follows

15 ml = 0.6mg

.25ml =1.0 mg

.50 ml = 2.0 mg

1.00ml = 4.0 mg
