LizWe’re hating the flu season here. We had to admit our 6 month old SWCAH daughter to the hospital after she spiked a fever over 104 and started vomiting early Sunday morning. She had been running a low grade temp but was acting fine the previous evening- we just doubled her cortef and out her to bed. A few hours later, we were running to the ER. Not fun. Her fever was high enough, tho, I think that we would of taken her in regardless, but the 5 minute vomit-fest totally freaked us out. Heh- we’re first time parents, however. Even if our daughter didnt have CAH we would of run her to the hospital anyway.
The real kicker, my husband and I contracted the flu from our daughter. We’re lucky enough to have lots of family in town, so the grandparents took shifts at the hospital while we were laid out at home. We’re all pretty much recovered now and my daughter was released yesterday, but no one feels like eating turkey.
My daughter did get the first part of her flu shot and is due to get the second part sometime next week. Too bad she was too young to get the whole dose at once.
