Our 6 year old SWCAH daughter had the chicken pox when she was almost 3. She didn’t have any problems! We were also told to triple dose for a fever, but not to worry otherwise. She didn’t have the vaccine, which had just come to our area about a year prior to her getting the pox. Our Ped. had told us we really wanted her to get them because they weren’t sure how long the vaccine lasted and it could be bad to get chicken pox as an adult. I have heard from several people whose children have had the vaccine, however, that their children did get a mild case when exposed, which should still make them immune.
