This is a very interesting thread! It seems there are a lot of coincidences. Maybe too many to dismiss the theory that CAH could, somehow make girls more assertive. Our 6 year old daughter is, and always has been, very much the same as what as been described. She is very strong willed, and refuses to do things she sees no purpose in. She thinks she knows everything and isn’t afraid to tell you, or anyone else. What’s amazing, however, is that she does know a lot of stuff! She soaks up facts like a sponge. Despite her sometimes annoying demeanor, I find myself allowing her to talk over me because I am interested in what she has to say, or how she will figure to reason herself out of a situation. I realize that is a parenting flaw more than anything else. She seems to be a different child at school, not acting like the "Queen Bee" (her nickname within our family), according to teachers. Still, I have to wonder, if CAH girls in fact have gifts, such as spatial relationships, etc. is it possible that this type of behavior is also one of those "gifts?" I say that half- jokingly because it is very frustrating as a parent trying to raise such a strong willed child. There is comfort in knowing, however, that that type of child usually makes the best adult. Very interesting!
