I have actually already talked wiht Kelly. I contacted her asking if there was a compentent doc in GA and she recommended that we go out of state. She also was kind enough to write a letter to the insurance company for us, which we sent along with the consensus statement. The insurance rejected our claim again saying that there were compentent facilities in GA to perform the surgery. I agree that there are compentent facilities in GA to perform the surgery BUT I have yet to find an experienced enough doc to go along with the facility.

I’m just sick of fighting with the insurance company over every penny. Last week they denied us am ambulance ride for my daughter. Why: the code the docs used for the insurance claim isnt a serious enough situation to warrent an ambulance. The code: head injury. I called them up and asked if a skull fracture in a 6 month old wasnt serious enough to warrent an ambulance, what was? It makes me want to scream!
