Many of you have described my daughter so perfectly. She is 3 1/2 and a friend from out of town stayed with us and commented that she doesn’t know that she is a child and therefore should act like one, I suppose! She is very loud. I went on a mtn bik trip for 3 days and got used to quiet. When I cam home it was a bit of a shock! She talks CONSTANTLY! We get many comments on this in grocery stores libraries, etc. She has a booming voice...but this sort of runs in my family for the females. She too thinks she knows all, and often does! Very intellingent. Hears a new word, ask what it means and then she knows it. It’s amazing to me. Many people speak of her PERSONALITY, but in a good way. She loves to wrestle with neighborhood kids who are much older than her. Once at a potluck all the big kids were out wrestling and wouldn’t let her play as they didn’t want to hurt her. I talked with them about safety and that she would love to play then they played with her...and were surprised out how strong she is and how she took them down too! She also bosses or tells the older kids what to do and they listen to her! They were all without shoes at night in the cold. I told Zenya she needed to put hers on and I helped her. She immediately went outside and pronounced,"You have to put your shoes on." And they did! I like to think she’s going to be a great leader! We are trying to teach her to ask instead of demand. This is a tough one and causes battles but she knows we don’t give in to her tantrums. She loses priviledges if she sasses or doesn’t do what we ask. But often with reminders before a known potential battle (brushing teeth) she will remember what is needed to get it done and does it. She is very muscular. You can visually see her thigh and calf muscles. She is very well coordinated. She can’t wait to go skiing this year and with her strength she will do well. Interesting thread. As a note...I too, am quite a "Tom girl". I rock climb, ski, mtn. bike, backpack etc...So I LOVE to see that she is strong and we support her with sports and hikes.(The girl hiked for 3 miles this summer!!)
