re: Anyone’s child had bad headaches for a long period of time?

Jenny,

Checking into the medications and the CAH side-effects themselves is always a good idea.  I hate to say it, though, sometimes it can just be migranes.  My dad, brother, and sister do not have CAH and have had horrible migrane headaches ever since they were little.

The only thing I have ever seen help them at all was diet changes.  My dad started eating a little honey at breakfast because it is so slow to digest and keeps his sugar levels at an even keel for awhile.  My brother stopped getting his as often when he started eating healthier so I am assuming it might have been his sugar levels as well. He has allergies too and just recently stated getting shots for them.  That might have been it too.  My sister started working for the department of social services a few years ago so hers started getting worse :)

They all said a dark room and sleep was all that could help.  It’s really tough because you want to do anything, bring them anything, tell them anything that might make them feel better and it’s the opposite of what they need/want.

I really feel for you and your predicament because my mom went through all that with my siblings.  She always had them at the doctors tryng to figure out the cause and never got an answer because often migranes don’t have an answer....so although I don’t have anything to offer you, I can certainly empathize with you and wish you the best of luck.
