Dear Tracey,

Thank you very much for the information! That’s a good brother that you have there :) I’m always on the look out for info that may help me manage my CAH better. Last October I switched to an Endo that actually is interested in helping me manage SVCAH the best way possible instead of minimizing and snickering about my concerns like the other Endos.

I never took Dex but rather Prednisone for 32 years and the first thing he did was take me off the Pred and give me a prescription for hydrocortisone which has been great! The blood test are fine on the hydro also and this Endo did touch on the subject of water pills at my last visit but we were concentrating more on me getting comfortable with taking the actonel and calcium supplements for bone loss and with me getting medical insurance again which I will have JAN 1 . Actonel costs a chunk of money but hey bone loss and osteoporosis is much, much, much worse. I hope that the water pills don’t cost as much.

I’m 5’1" and my weight will fluctuate with ease. It depends so much on what I eat and how much I exercise but even when I was 118 pounds still I had a sorta puffy face and a little paunch around the middle and thick thighs. It’s going to be fun to try the water pills and watch what happens just the same.

You made me really happy by bringing up this topic. I had forgotten about the water pills since the Endo visit. I hope that everything goes well with your blood draw.

Take Care,

Aimee
