If your baby would be a salt waster his sodium levels would have to come back very low, not elevated.  My son recently had a sodium level of ’130’ together with high potassium and it took starting him on sodium chloride tablets to balance his levels.  The fact that your son’s high sodium came together with an elevated potassium should have been a clear indication that there was a mistake with the labs.  I wonder why your doctor wasn’t thinking that it might have been hemolized before and even more why did he even suggest that you should triple the dose rather than lowering it?
