I was weaned off the dex slowly by my doctor after I gave birth (took approx. 6 weeks).  My daughter is beautiful and it was worth the headaches, weight gain, mood swings, etc.  She did not need any surgery as the dex did its job!  She has CAH and is a severe salt waster - but she can run circles around anyone!
