Fiona, sooner or later you will have problems with your stomach. Like ulcers, steroids should be taken with milk or food everytime and not on an empty stomach. I take mine at 4 am every morning. I have a thermos to keep it cold and my alarm goes off softly as not to startle me awake, my pill is on top of the clock.  So its very easy, I also drink more than just a sip of milk to ensure that my stomach gets coated.

 My daughter takes cortef 3 x a day and she HAS to take it with milk everytime even if she has eaten.
