re: Extra Hydrocortisone needed over Xmas?

Funny you mentioned that. My daughter who is 6 and a half, with CAH due to 21 hydroxlase, really "hit a wall" Christmas day. She was over excited from the time her eyes opened as every other kid in the world was. (but slept until close to her normal time of waking up) At around 4pmish, she got done opening her gifts at her grandma’s house and she asked for two glasses of water. She soon disappeared into the downstairs living room. I found her curled up on the couch starring at the TV. I was scared at first thinking she was getting sick. I asked her what was wrong and she just said she was REALLY tired and hungry. This was NOT my child. She rarely is hungry, and rarely takes a minute to walk away from new toys. We got her a bowl of mashed potatoes and she perked up some. I never thought to give her extra Cortef. (duh!) Next year I think I will watch her more closely. She rested on the couch some, took a warm bath and was herself again. Thanks for the input. I will definately be more aware next year. (just a note here, I had an older brother that would get a low grade fever before any holiday that was exciting. It was an on going joke that my mom always had to give him baby asprins before every holiday.)
