WolverineThe only time that I give myself extra hydrocortisone is when I’m feeling physically ill. Vomiting, Diarrhea, Bad headache, Nausea, lethargic but not just tired, I know the difference because being lethargic comes with a grayish white pallor on my normally rosy complexion which is a big tip off for me and maybe for a really bad cold. Also for falling off of horses but then that goes with the bad headache ; )
Everyone deals with their CAH in a different way that helps them feel better. Just like people that don’t have any medical conditions feel different when they are out of sorts too! For awhile I tried to "stress dose" at work but it didn’t help me at all but changing jobs sure did !
I have Simple-Virilizing CAH and 11- Hydroxylase and not Salt-Wasting CAH or LOCAH 21-Hydroxylase and I wonder if that does make a difference? I remember taking final exams in college and thinking about when I was done with the exams that I could go party at the beach. Taking more cortisone was the farthest thing from my mind.
