re: Extra Hydrocortisone needed over Xmas/exams?

Again Wolverine this shows how CAH is such an individual condition - my son has severe SWCAH and does not produce cortisol so what he gets, is what he gets from a tablet.  In a stressful situation the body needs more cortisol - again what is stressful to one person may not be stressful to another. Exams are a stressful situation for him and whereas people without cortisol deficiency would make extra cortisol, to combat the situations his body cannot.  Of course this will not cause him to have a crisis but however it will help to keep his mind clear and prevent him from developing a bad headache, feeling tired and sick.  I have also read that when short of cortisol it can cause you to have almost a brain fog feeling, not helpful during exams!  So I do actually agree with this increase for my son, and that it certainly will do him more good than harm!
