Susan A.Renee - my gosh - I’m surprised how many people (adults ) have not been told about having an emergency injectible with them at all times. I didn’t know about it until I got a decent endo who asked if I was carrying one and I had no idea what he was talking about (this was about 6 years ago).
What the emergency injectible is is 100 mgs of Solucortef - mine comes in an actovial (powder on the top and liquid on the bottom that are mixed together before use.) The 100 mgs are injected into a muscle (leg, hip, etc) - they keep you from going into crisis in an emergency (broken bone, excess vomiting (which is a sign of adrenal crisis) car accident, etc. Or will save your life if you are in crisis. I’ve had to use mine about 3 or 4 times. You need to get one and get a medic alert bracelet as well.
