sharonhi Melissa and all,
thanks much for your replies.i’ve just gone to see an endocrinologist and she’s switching me to DEXA (i have been on prednisolone since i was 12) for 2 days and then i’ll need to go for a full blood test and a CT scan (damn those things are expensive!)
the doc said that there could be 3 reasons why i stopped menstruating a few years back - 1) i could have a lil benign tumour in the cortisol (hope i got the terms rite!) which is blocking the release of female hormones 2)my pituitary gland is misbehaving and 3) oops i forgot what the third one is :P
i really hope i can conceive cos my husband is nuts about kids...*saying my prayers*
oh yes, thought i’d share this with you as well - i have been feeling light-headed and really tired for the past 2 weeks (that was what prompted me to see the doc cos i was afraid my CAH was acting up) and i went for a massage yesterday for the first time.
the lady used a form of chinese massage where she ’kneaded’ my back with what looks like a shoe-horn, and to my surprise she asked me if i am having adrenal problems. she was also spot-on to what i was feeling - heatiness and fatigue. i asked her how on earth could she tell of my adrenal problem when all she did was just to knead my back.
she said that every part of our body tells a story (just like foot reflexology) and when she rubbed my back, parts of it turned dark-brown and these parts are linked directly to our liver, adrenal glands, kidney, etc, and that’s how she was able to tell my trouble spots. i turned to look and true enough, my back was stained with dark-brown streaks (as if i had been in a wrestling match). in case you’re wondering if they are bruises from all that kneading, they’re not cos they don’t hurt to the touch.
i honestly felt SO MUCH better after that - the dizziness and fatigue just went away.
i intend to go for another round of massage in another 2 weeks. this just gets me to think hard about holistic treatments...
any of you guys ever went for this sort of massage?
