hi! my non-cah daughter had tubes in her ears at 6 months and it was a breeze. as far as the cah part goes, my little 3 week old son just got diagnosed with salt-wasting cah. he also has a port wine stain on the side of his face that will probably warrant surgery before he is 3 years old with general anesthesia. i asked my endo about this last week and he said no problem. surgeons are quite familiar with increasing the hydrocortisone and can even give iv steriods during the surgery. i am sure it will go fine and would not worry about it too much. it is probably much riskier to avoid the surgery and continue with ear infections, which usually have fevers. my daughter never had another ear infection after the surgery. good luck!!
