I did take prenatal treatment and ended up having a  beautiful little boy with CAH.  Would I do it again? Absolutely!!!!!!! If you think about it there are antibiotics that we give our kids that have been tested and followed less than the dex for prenatal treatment. Also, some people who have certain conditions like Cancer and some other serious conditions have to take dex and other medications while pregnant. To me, the chance of having a CAH girl and being able to hopefully avoid the whole surgery situation was worth it to me. I read a few of the papers that Dr. New wrote on the use of the dex  and I found it sufficient information for me to take it. I didn’t like the side effect the dex had on me but I would take it again in a second if I were pregnant.

It’s a personal decision. If you want to take your chances...the odds are with you. If you decide to take the dex... the only suggestion is that you wean off of it if your baby turns out to be a boy or a non affected girl.
