My son is almost 3, but he was also admitted at 7 days old for failure to thrive and was close to death, but thank God we had a doc. that figured out what was wrong within a few days.  I’m sorry your son is having growth problems; my son is small for his age, but he is currently on the growth charts, and he has some friends that are similar in size and age.  However, I worry about when he gets older because I teach 8th grade and I know it is hard when you are the smallest one, especially if you are male.
