This is all very new to us so I have sooo many questions.

My 3 month old (apparantly non-salt wasting) son’s endo. said that if he gets sick enough to need to increase his oral dose of cortef or if he is vomiting and we give him the injection that there is no reason to take him to the ER.  He said the increased med’s will take care of him.  Additionally, he said that if we give him the injection it lasts for 24 hours so he will not need any more meds during that time. 

After reading many postings, it seems that so many people take their cah child to the E.R. automatically when they are sick.  PLEASE HELP!!  I don’t want to wait for a crisis and then feel uncertain about the appropriate course of action.
