Please double check with your endo on the 24-hour advice. Solu-Cortef is out of the body long before that. Perhaps your doctor is thinking of one of the older forms of injectible hydrocortisone. Hydrocortisone sodium succinate was supposed to cover for 24 hours, but it has been unavailable for several years. Solu-Cortef is hydrocortisone acetate, and has a much shorter half-life.
