The last time my daughter had to have an injection of the solucortef at the hospital, the docs told us that it only lasts for about 4 hours, ...it’s just given to give her body an initial ’boost’ but as far as I know after the child ’comes right’ you carry on giving hydrocortisone as normal (or in higher dosages if required until they’re completely well).

Hope this helps...this is just what we’ve been told.......
