The solucortef does not last for 24 hrs, but there is an injcetable form of cortisone acetate that is supposed to cover for 24hrs, longer lasting but not the quick boost. My oldest SW CAH’er was perscribed the cortisone acetate when he was born, it is not a recommended treatment and did not work well in a crisis. It seems to me you need a second opinon. I switched Endos about 7 years ago and I am very happy I did, if you do not feel like you are getting good care you are probably right. Go look out of town for a second opinion if you need.
