re: Question about Genitogram procedure

Hi Tara,

I believe that the genitogram is the same as a VCUG. It should take about 10 - 15 minutes (or so I was told). When my daughter was 18-months, she had one. She did have to be tied down (they had to have my permission) because she was fighting so hard (3 nurses couldn’t hold her still enough).  It turned out to take a little over 30 minutes for the whole process.

Do you mean sonogram (ultrasound)? On my daughter this has been done to make sure all the parts are there, make sure the adrenals look OK. A very easy way to see if things look as they should.

Bone age testing is simply an x-ray of the had.  You will have the results as soon as the ped endo or radiologist reads the pictures. Make sure you know who gave the age so when the next one is done you will be comparing apples to apples. The ped endo is the one who reads my daughter’s.

Best regards,

Janet
