I nearly went through puberty at age 4. Only when a "bone age" x-ray revealed physiological age to be 7 did the good doctors put me on a high dose of prednisone to stunt my rapid growth. (I would request this type of x-ray, or its modern equivalent, immediately.) In first grade, age 6, I was a head taller than all of my classmates. By sixth grade, I had only grown two inches, and was no longer the tallest kid around. Luckily for me, they stopped the onset of puberty until age 12. So I guess my message is -- find an endocrinologist who’s willing to work with your daughter to give her enough steroids to delay any further development and growth until a more appropriate age. Perhaps there are downsides to interrupting puberty once it has started, but there are also concerns about what happens to a young body when it grows too rapidly. If you are not happy with your current doc, find another. I hope this helps at least a little. Keep the faith. Best, EricEric B.
