Yes it is safe ! First you must have faith in your Doctors and check there credentials and ask for references if need be to feel better about it. My Granddaughter had the surgery last year and is doing fine. She is only three. I was very optimistic about her surgery from the beginning and feel that the surgeons and Doctors have much more experience in these procedures than they did years ago. Geez we are living in a world where they can re - attach limbs and organ transplants. Certainly they have the technology needed to carry out your needs in surgery. Go with a positive attitude and a strong will. You will be fine and feel much better after it is over. No more fears of it. I can’t speak for your actions as you are twenty and I am caring for someone three. But, I think you are making a very wise move if it is what YOU want. Good luck and take care. Let us know how you do. We care! Cherry
