re: Control during adolescence

We have been told that my son’s problems were caused through puberty. He is now 16 and was 13 when things started going awry. They have also done androstendione, testosterone, DHEA’s, LH, FSH levels and ACTH profiles to look at the whole picture and not only the 17 OHP levels (as well as CT of the adrenals and MRI or the pituitary). My son is now on replacement dose of 97.5 mgs of h/c a day.  I strongly recommend that careful, regular monitoring is done through puberty, even though I know of many people with CAH that have sailed through puberty with no problems
