Hi Adrianna

my daughter was diagnosed with SWCAH when she was eight days old.. she is now 4 months old and i agree in most part with all that has been said so far..

my baby was in NICU for 2 weeks and since then has had only 2 blood tests done.. that’s cos her doctor believes ( and i agree) that only if she is not growing well is there a need to "poke" her.

she weighs approx 5kg now and is on hydrocort 3mg in the morning, 1mg at midday and 1mg at night and is on 0.1mg florinef. I know that for her surface area the ideal dose for her is between 3mg and 6mg per day. With God’s help, she is growing beautifully. She is very active.. sleeps for a total of 2hrs during the day and has a smile that can brighten up even the darlest day..

But everyone is right... u must ask .. ask your doctor anything and anytime... u have every right to feel the way u do.. infact, my husband and i r both medical doctors but i call the paed almost every week.. even when he goes on holiday. You need to have a good relationship with your endo or paed..

afterall.. it is your child

good luck

feel free to e-mail me at any time
