I totally agree. Being a Health/P.E. teacher you need to look at the source of your carbs. Our bodies need carbs especially if we are exercising and working out a lot.

I too, have osteopenia. I am a 38 yr old female. Been on hydrocortisone for 28 yrs. I have been active all my life in sports, lifting weights etc. Drank lots of milk when younger and ate a lot of dairy products. I would really down the milk in middle and high school. So yes it is the cortisone. I have taken calcium supplements for the last 12 yrs. (Citrical). Yes, vitamin D is absorbed better with citrus (fruit) in the body. And...I always hear it on Paul Harvey. Well, that wasn’t enough and my endo said I can go on Fosomax if I want. I did because I didn’t want to wait to see what my bone density was in a year. My body seems to be tolerating the Fosomax so far. We’ll see if it helps. I have 17 hydroxylase CAH. No uterus or ovaries when born. Not SW.

Had twins through a surrogate(sister in law) with husbands sperm and egg donor.

Hope this helps!
