ToniaThank you to everyone who posted. This most recent stone has happily passed - my daughter turned 6 yesterday and we are hosting 20 of her friends for a party. I couldn’t imagine doing that with a stone.
Lynn it is interesting that you mention the gallbladder. Since summer, I have been trouble when I eat certain foods (onion rings, french fries - high fat foods) but recently I trouble eating anything but oatmeal. My pain is on my left side (right under the ribs) towards the middle radiating up and slightly to the right. Sometimes the pain goes to my shoulder blades. I talked to all 4 of my doctors about this and they said it’s not the area of my gall bladder and it is probably just gas. One of my doctors said I’m not a "good" candidate for gallbladder problems since I am not fair, fat and forty. CAN YOU BEKIEVE THAT!!!!??? I am fair, skinny, and 28. It is interesting though, and I informed my docs that, both of my sisters and my mom had their gallbladders removed between the ages of 28 and 30 and their pain was EXACTLY where I described mine ( my 28 year old neighbor had pain in the exact place and had emergency gallbladder removal 3 months ago). My problem seems to be finding a doctor that will listen to me. My 30 year old sister has the same problems I do with kidney stones and guess what- her cortisol and salt are abnormally high. I have tried to press the issue of the cortisol and salt levels in my body but they are dismissed. My salt levels are high even though I have a low sodium diet. I have taken all the lists of things I should and should not eat and drink and try to follow them. I saw a new nephrologist today and do not feel very hopeful. I will do the tests he is asking me to do and see what we come up with. Right now lithotripsy ( the procedure that crushes the stones with sonic waves) is not right for me, according to the docs since most of my stones are 1 mm or less. It is so frustrating. I am going to check out all of the websites and see if I am missing something. Thank you again to all who posted. I appreciate it! :)
