My daughter was diagnosed last Feb at age 4 1/2 due to just a little pubic hair. My mother was actually more concerned than I was, I blew it off for a while just because we have olive skin and dk brown hair/brown eyes. I can remember when I was young, just because my features were dark, I seemed to have more hair on my arms, etc., so I thought that was the case with my daughter. The hair on her was very sparse, and more like "peach fuzz" than actual pubic hair. I asked my pediatrician about it while in his office for something else. He sent us to the endo and she was diagnosed w/ LOCAH.
If your children have any hair at all or a mild odor, I would suggest testing. Hope that helps.
