SandraHi Sue,
What is a glucose tube? Why do you need it. The endo never mentioned this to me. Also, I would think that as long as you have the shot with you, you would have a good 6 to 8 hours before getting to an ER. I would ask your endo if you could give another shot if you were not able to land withing that time frame. Something would have to happen as soon as you got on board though to not have enough time to get help. I’m sure they have some kind of protocol for life threatening situations. Most international flights carry defibrillators on board so I’m sure they have dealt with emergency situations before. I would maybe ask the flight attendant or pilot or call ahead of time and find out. This way you can set your mind at ease before your flight.
Good luck,
Sandra
