Help: circadian dosing!
Feb. 9th, 2004   5:51pm

I’m going to start my son on hydrocortisone hopefully tomorrow.  His doctor is calling tomorrow at 9:30 and she’s impossible to get on the phone so please help me!

He’s a carrier of Exon 7 so he’s going to get a really small dose. He’s 9.  He once tried 2.5 mg of prednisone before bed and he didn’t grow at all so I want to try circadian dosing.  I’ve tried to wade through the archives but:  he usually goes to bed between 9:30 and 10:00 (it seems to work for him!) and wakes up at about 7:30.  I noticed alot of the other kids are going to bed a lot earlier.   Has anyone tried to set an alarm clock and leave half a pill by their bedside and let them take it themselves?  I just think he’ll have a much better chance of getting back to sleep than I will if I have to get out of bed and turn lights on, etc.

Please give me your opinions ASAP.  Thanks.
