DebbiWI was reading the recent post about clues for crisis and was most intereseted in the part about glucose. My son has been complaining of headaches...mostly afternoons. Becasue our endo moved, we have been waiting to see a new doctor, so I have been stewing with this headache thing. I truly have been thinking it was his glucose level that was off. I, too, tried the quick fix-orange juice- but found he wanted to nap afterwards. Sort of like, he he got a sugar rush and then was coming down. It was suggested by a friend to give high protein instead.
Anyway, last week, he came home from school early complaining of headache and nausea. he napped for 2 hours and was fine. Today I got a call from the school and he complained of headache, his face was hot, and his chest hurt. Once he ate lunch, he was fine. I don’t want him to be a hypochondriac, but I am glad he can articulate so well how he feels. Perhaps he does not feel normal and leaves it to the adults to tell him if that is normal or not.
At any rate, his focus has not been good, has headaches, and I just know he is off. fortunately, I got a call and our appt. has been moved a month early (prayers are answered). I have an appt. with his pediatrician for Monday to make sure there is nothing more serious going on. Hopefully he will run some blood work to be safe.
I welcome any insight to the symptoms. Do I stress dose or treat the glucose my itself?
